DeCarlo & Doll was selected to design roadway, walkway, sidewalk, canal improvements, and railroad crossing gates for the Shelton Economic Development Corporation in association with the ConnDOT and DECD. These planned improvements were part of a $7.9 million economic development project linking the southern economic development area including the Farmers Market with a direct connection to Canal Street North. This area is being transformed from old underground utilities and industrial buildings to residential condominiums with some commercial/retail space, parking garages or underground parking. The development is part of a $300,000,000 private investment that will connect the existing Housatonic Riverwalk constructed in Phase I and Phase II with the area north of Bridge Street.
