Middletown High School Cost: $103M | Project Area: 277,000 sf

The school is organized around a courtyard to bring light into teaching spaces, separated from the block of larger spaces—food court, gyms, pool and auditorium—to the rear.

Wetlands on the site necessitated careful location of the building and play fields.  The project’s wetlands mitigation plan and its storm water management plan included provision for a special, large scale, culvert system for promotion of aquatic wildlife migration.
